POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager provides expert advice and leadership to a team of in-house recruiters and talent acquisition specialists, ensuring they are efficient and client focuses while executing optimal sourcing strategies.  The Manager will leverage innovative tools and techniques to enhance. While keeping in mind CHEO’s brand and need to recruit a diverse workforce and an exceptional candidate experience.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop talent attraction, acquisition and retention strategies;
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to all levels of management in all aspect of the recruitment function ensuring appropriate recruitment strategies are developed;
  • Ensure current and future human resources needs are met with a particular focus on critical and hard-to-fill roles including both unionized and management positions;
  • Keep the pulse on progressive tools and techniques influencing talent attraction trends in the marketplace;
  • Educate staff regarding new policies, collective agreement language, legislation, processes and procedures to ensure understanding;
  • Create and monitor metric related to the recruitment function and seeks out innovative ways to improve service, processes, and candidate experience and implements them as necessary;
  • Develop and deliver training workshops to ensure knowledge transfer to new and aspiring leaders of CHEO;
  • Lead/coordinate complex human resources projects as determined by the Chief Talent Officer
  • Liaise and manage effective communication and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders for the smooth, efficient and affective delivery of services;
  • Establish and maintain strong external relationships with multiple stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Criminal Record Check                                    (Essential)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or other related discipline 
  • (Combination of education and experience may be considered)                    (Essential)
  • Certified Human Resources Leader or equivalent designation                                 (Essential)                               
  • Seven (7) to 10 years year experience  in the field of human resources or recruitment        (Essential)
  • Experience in the supervision of human resources or recruiting staff                (Essential)
  • Experience working in a large, complex, highly unionized organization                (Essential)
  • Experience working in a human resources department in a health care sector             (Preferred)
  • Experience in providing or overseeing full cycle recruitment                    (Essential)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills                         (Essential)
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop and assess solutions and provide recommendations        (Essential)
  • Demonstrated project management experience                         (Essential)
  • Ability to establish community partnerships                            (Essential)
  • Strong data analysis skills                                    (Essential)    
  • Experience/knowledge in the implementation of outcomes management frameworks        (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MSOffice products                            (Essential)
  • Bilingual  (French/English)                                    (Essential)
