About the job

Reporting to the Talent & Culture Manager, the HR Business Partner is responsible for a variety of Human Resources functions supporting all departments within the County. The Business Partner provides assistance with corporate human resources policies and procedures, collective agreement administration, and identifies potential issues and grievances. Additionally, the Business Partner supports the full cycle recruitment process in collaboration with other departments of the County and new employee orientation.

Requirements

  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in Human Resources or a Post Graduate Certificate
  • Three years of previous work experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage human resources core processes such as talent management, succession planning, and employee relations
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Knowledge of labour relations and union contract and procedure expertise
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read and interpret legislation
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Ability to write and format moderately complex correspondence, including memos and letters
  • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills
  • Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License

Asset:

  • CHRP Designation
