Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an innovative leader for the position of Manager, Occupational Health Safety and Wellness to lead and guide staff while ensuring HSN has the expertise to develop, implement and maintain a Health, Safety and Wellness Management System for employees, with consideration for medical staff, volunteers, learners, contractors and affiliate organizations as required. The successful incumbent will also lead and direct the organization through practices that align with corporate objectives and priorities, while considering current and emerging legislation and best practices. They will also design and implement evidence-based and innovative corporate health and wellness approaches that enhance staff wellness, engagement and attendance.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of a four (4) Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study or be a practicing regulated health professional. Preference will be given to candidates with a professional designation in Occupational Health and Safety (i.e. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH), Canadian Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)). A minimum of five (5) years’ managerial experience with demonstrated ability in effective leadership and coaching skills including a minimum of three (3) years’ of system level experience, preferably safety related and/or in a health care environment is required.
