Recruitment Specialist- 12 Month Contract

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the recruitment and hiring functions, supporting the health and safety programs, and providing HR administrative assistance to all members of the team.

Main Duties:
Coordinate Recruitment and Hiring

  • Prepare and post internal and external job postings as well as advertise and manage job vacancies
  • Maximize utility of job boards functionality
  • Screen applicants
  • Coordinate interview schedules with HR Manager and hiring Manager, respond to job applicants
  • Maintain Open Roles tracker
  • Maintain Recruiting cost tracker

Coordinate and Support the Health and Safety Program

  • Support HR Manager with all WSIB claims and safe and early return to work
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Joint Health & Safety meetings by completing monthly safety inspections, and agendas
  • Monitor WHMIS training and training needs as required to ensure all employees are current

Administrative Support

  • Coordinate orientation and support the on-boarding process
  • Assist with Mid-Year and year-end performance review cycle
  • Maintain employee licensing documents i.e. Gas Fitter licenses
  • Promote employee recognition and retention by assisting with annual staff events and award programs
  • Participate with the planning, logistics, and execution of HR initiatives as required
  • Produce monthly HR reporting for review by HR Manager
  • Backup Reception
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Min. College degree, University degree and/or CHRP designation preferred
  • 3+ years of work experience in an office environment including a minimum of 1 year experience in Human Resources
  • 3+ years of work experience in recruiting, especially utility of job boards i.e. candidate search in Indeed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with and without an ATS
  • Good communication, interpersonal, organizational skills
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to contribute effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to deal with HR issues with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Focused on providing exceptional support to our internal customers with a positive attitude and friendly disposition
