Reporting to the Supervisor, HR Partner, the HR Analyst will work with clients to proactively resolve HR issues and provide solutions through the employee life cycle. Serves as an HR liaison for all HR aspects, such as: payroll, time and attendance, employment, change management, compensation and benefits. As a member of a fast-paced Human Resources team, the HR Analyst is accountable for providing high quality, accurate and professional support service to the organization. This position requires the successful candidate to work with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, strong work ethic and ability to maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of bi-weekly payroll process meeting established deadlines and maintaining appropriate records.  Be the liaison with the global payroll team and reconcile payroll reports once processed.
  • Run audit reports to ensure entries meet established policies, practices and legislative requirements. Processes statutory, third party and benefit remittances and reconciliations.
  • Update and maintain records in the HRIS system (Workday) while maintaining data integrity.
  • Run various HR reports and undertake analysis of key management information.
  • Participate in the development, improvement, and implementation of internal administrative procedures and training, and ensure procedural documents are updated.
  • Support key HR processes such as pension and benefit administration, absence reporting, salary planning and month-end HR metrics.
  • Other daily responsibilities as assigned and may include acting as first-point of contact for routine queries from employees and managers on payroll, time and attendance, benefits, and other human resources policies.
  • Performs other HR tasks or project work to support the department as needed.
     

Education and Technical Requirements:

  • University degree, College diploma, or equivalent work experience in Human Resources
  • CHRP or working towards designation; member of Canadian Payroll Association an asset
  • 2-5 years’ experience working in Human Resources environment with direct HRIS/payroll experience
  • Effective verbal and written communicator at all levels in the organization
  • Previous experience of inputting payroll and maintaining HR administration for a large fast paced organization
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience working in Workday or similar HRIS system would be an asset
  • Some payroll processing experience would be an asset

Key Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of current Ontario employment legislation
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrated good judgement and discretion to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong record keeping and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and be a positive team player
  • Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge and understanding through self-study and research
  • Positive attitude with eagerness to embrace change
