Maltby Centre is the lead regional agency for Mental Health and Autism Services, with
an experienced and compassionate team of professionals who provide high quality,
community-based health and support services to children and youth in Kingston,
Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A). Formerly known as Pathways for Children
& Youth, Maltby Centre is a registered charity and not-for-profit agency established
in 1996 and funded in part by the Ontario government. Through the work of over 140
dedicated staff, Maltby Centre creates possibilities for change in young lives.
The Director, People Services, is the Chief Human Resources officer at Maltby and is a
key member of the Maltby Centre Senior Leadership Team supporting the
management, implementation, and execution of the strategic plan. They provide
executive-level leadership and guidance to Human Resources operations,
Organizational Development, and Occupational Health and Safety. The Director is
responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources
policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range
strategic talent management goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
Support the leadership team through coordination and execution of the strategic plan.
Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals.
Provides support to ensure that Maltby Centre maintains national accreditation standards.
Develop and implement a strategic Human Resources Plan.
Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and
employee incentive programs.
Provides guidance and leadership to the People Services team; assists with resolution of human resource,
compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and
talent management.
Directs and coordinates the administration and negotiation of bargaining unit contracts.
Provides direction and oversight in the development and implementation of employee relations strategies
and programs.
Directs the development of training and organizational development programs
Provide People’s Services support to all applicable workplace committees.
Qualifications
University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, Master’s
degree is preferred
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation required
Minimum seven (7) years’ relevant experience, including five (5) years’ progressively responsible human
resources management experience working in a unionized public-sector organization
French language proficiency, written and verbal, an asset.
Assets

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, statistical, financial reporting and relational databases
Demonstrated ability to function strategically
