Responsible for management of day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department including labour relations, employee benefit plans, service recognition program, certifications, attendance management program, Diversity and Inclusion and Personal Excellence Program. Oversees internal and external recruitment, orientation of staff, co-op students and maintains personnel records for all employees.
- Degree from recognized university.
- C.H.R.P. designation or C.H.R.L. designation or currently pursuing.
- Minimum of five years experience in Human Resources is required.
- Experience in Labour Relations including grievance handling.
- Previous recruitment and selection experience an asset
- Benefits administration experience an asset.
- Previous experience in a health-care setting.
- Organization skills, ability to handle a large volume of work, and demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are mandatory, as is demonstrated ability to deal congenially with a variety of people and operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Computer skills are essential.
- Able to work independently in a demanding environment and be able to prioritize workload.

- Must have and provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization.
- Conducts policy reviews and development in partnership with HR Director through HR/ Management Committee. Assists in negotiation preparation, grievance management and labor relations meetings. Conducts initial investigations into any grievances, and prepare documentation for second step grievance meetings. Assists in providing interpretation of Collective Agreement to Managers and employees. Develops innovative sourcing strategies and advertising campaigns in order to attract high quality applicants. Continually evaluates and improves talent acquisition process. Prepares HR indicators/metrics as required.
- Ensure job descriptions and reviewed are updated.
- Coordinator of the Tuition Assistance Program and process approved tuition assistance applications for reimbursement.
- Complete monthly employee activity statistics for HR/Management meetings.
- Complete and submit Statistics Canada Wage Survey.
- Track Excess Hours and Overtime Averaging documentation as required.
