Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

Permanent Full-Time Position

Grey Bruce Management Administrative Services (GBMAS), operating under the name Tri-Alliance Shared Services Organization (TASSO), is a newly formed not-for-profit providing management and administrative services to Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living, Community Living Owen Sound and District and Community Living Walkerton and District.  Located throughout Bruce and Grey Counties, the TASSO agencies support people with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, active lives within their communities.  As an employee of TASSO, you will be joining a dedicated and committed team whose mission is to nurture inclusion and promote people’s full participation as valued and contributing citizens.  As a new agency, we do not yet have an online presence however please check out the websites of each agency to learn more agency-specific details.  

We are seeking a skilled professional who can coordinate our recruiting, retention and on-boarding programs across all TASSO agencies. Your focus will be on creating and coordinating an efficient and proven strategy that supports our communities with recruiting and on-boarding, and advising on relevant and effective retention strategies. You understand the recruitment needs through all available platforms; conducting interviews, selection procedures, and creating hiring events. You accomplish these goals by creating a strong recruitment and retention program with support of the Human Resource Manager and overseeing the full cycle employment life span.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with managers to identify staffing needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
  • Coordinate the recruitment processes including job posting, transfers, or promotion of selected employees ensuring all applicable standards in hiring are met.
  • Ensure the career page of each Agency website is up-to-date to increase their online presence.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and sure and ensure all legislative training requirements are met.
  • In collaboration with the Manager of Human Resources, ensure TASSO agencies are compliant with contractual and provincial legislative requirements such as the Labour Relations Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and Collective Agreements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated passion for serving the community.
  • Undergraduate degree with additional training in human resource management, a CHRP designation, or working towards the designation.
  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources, preferably with recruitment experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of HR-related principles, practices, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to frequently changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective collaborator who builds strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Results-oriented, with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-through with the ability to take initiative.
  • Solid understanding of HR software, including time and attendance, payroll, and HR systems. 
  • Experience working in a unionized environment considered as asset.

Work Location: This position will be based out of the Community Living Owen Sound and District Admin Office in Owen Sound, ON, however, will support all TASSO agencies requiring travel between sites.
