Position Summary: Reporting to the senior site Operational Leader, the Senior Manager, Human Resources is responsible to ensure the Plant is maintaining and continuously improvement all HR programs and processes (recruitment, attendance management, grievance management, union relations) etc. and building strong employee/labour relations required to attain Plant objectives. In addition, the Senior Manager HR is expected to take on a lead role as an ambassador for Sofina’s Culture in their respective plant.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and supports the execution of recruitment and retention strategies for the facility.
  • Manages labour relations, including counselling operations leadership and participates in the grievance process to achieve resolutions.
  • Provides leadership to the HR Team with a clear focus on the career development of team members.
  • Identifies opportunities, risks and makes recommendation of people initiatives aligned to business plans.
  • Works closely with the Plant Leadership team, providing information, data, etc. that will assist the Plant Leadership to achieve success.
  • Develops recommendations for employee recognition events and plans and executes same.
  • Change champion and supportive of corporate initiatives and participates in corporate meetings to identify opportunities.
  • Works closely with Total Rewards team to ensure full use of workforce capital management tools. Communicates benefits of corporate initiatives and ensures understanding.
  • Oversees the collection of key data linked to critical areas of the business; analysis and communicates the data and makes appropriate recommendations and plans to address gaps.  

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a leadership role;
  • A degree in a business discipline or Human Resources Management. Equivalent experience will also be accepted;
  • Experience in Labour Relations;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with influencing and conflict resolutions skills;
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and tactical skills; Change management expertise.
