JOB OVERVIEW:

The HRIS Data Specialist will perform a variety of day-to-day administrative Human Resource Information system (HRIS) activities. These functions related to the HRIS System functions include ensuring data integrity and the processing and reporting of HR data, alongside being the system subject matter expert. The incumbent will work both internally with key stakeholders as the organization changes policy and procedures, but also externally with HRIS vendors, benefit vendors, and the like. The incumbent will be expected to work independently under general direction. Required expertise to manage problems and situations by determining the approach or action to take is critical. Ability to interpret guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices and be able to represent that in the system is essential. This role is also the back up to the payroll team.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Confirms accuracy and integrity of all data entered, maintains data in HRIS systems and databases and assures information is available on a timely basis.
  • Lead partner with external vendors such as HRIS provider, benefits vendors, etc. to develop system integrity, and improvements to system for purposes of data transfers
  • Lead ongoing HRIS project team, inclusive of SMEs for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Controls system access for employees – new hires, changes, terminations
  • Performs group data updates, exports, imports, clean-ups, and research/reports on any data discrepancies.
  • Delivers routine daily/weekly/monthly reporting and responds to basic to intermediate ad hoc data requests.
  • Conducts data analysis on HR data such as compensation, classification, employment, employee relations, and/or benefits data as directed.
  • Partners with SMEs to deliver on outstanding modules and integrating their full operation
  • Prepares reports, graphs, charts, and statistics in support of human resources operations.
  • Provides system expertise and counsel regarding employee changes, payroll and benefits
  • Provides project management expertise across all Group of Companies relating to Dayforce.
  • Acts as primary contact for assigned function with outside organizations or other departments; responds to technical and administrative questions and ensures necessary follow up.
  • Provides administrative support such as preparing and composing confidential correspondence and receiving and screening telephone calls.
  • Assists Payroll Team, through backing up on vacation, or other time away.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation required to support projects
  • Participates in special projects with HR team as directed. May supervise, direct, monitor or coordinate actions of project team members
  • Builds training for end users and Payroll/HR team users

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Business degree in related field, with a Human Resources postgraduate degree AND a minimum two (2) years of directly related HRIS experience, particularly in Dayforce; OR, Four (4) years of directly related HRIS experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated Dayforce knowledge gained by a like role in a previous organization.
  • Having project led a team through a system re-generation or start up is valuable.
  • Achievement of launching new modules an asset.
  • Demonstrated relationship building both with HR/Payroll Team and internal clients as well as having experience with payroll is essential.
