Reporting to the Manager, Leadership & Talent Development, the Leadership and Talent Development Advisor will participate in the planning, designing, development, implementation and evaluation of learning initiatives and continuous program development focused on the function of learning, leadership, and talent development.

 

The Advisor is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the organizational strategy by ensuring that assigned activities meet organization goals and priorities and actively promotes and supports patient and family centered care. The Advisor will participate in corporate initiatives and committees to provide learning, leadership, and talent development expertise, consultation and support. Working as part of a team or leading an initiative, the Advisor also assists with other activities supported by the department

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategic Analysis

  • Conducts needs assessments and performance gap analysis on leadership and learning development constituents using techniques such as discovery meetings, focus groups and data analysis, considering corporate metrics, policies, and procedures to inform design and development of corporate or team development initiatives. Develops associated recommendations and action plans and supports leaders with implementation, applying change and transition management, as well as sustainment tools.

Design, Development and Delivery

  • Manages project timelines, progress, accountabilities and presentation of deliverables that have been selected.
  • Supports, designs, delivers, and evaluates corporate programs such as eLearning (mandatory and requested courses), facilitated sessions (i.e., orientation; departmental planning retreats; leaders head start)) and custom-designed team effectiveness sessions.
  • Designs and develops learning or creative assets, including storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, activities, case studies, interactive documents, and online multimedia. Writes recommended learning solutions, strategies, and content outlines, for various learning solutions, including instructor-led, virtual classrooms, conferences, online learning, and blended learning. Analyzes and applies trends and best practices in learning (such as learning technologies or tools, instructional or visual design, accessibility, and user experience). Maintains project documentation and reports progress on schedule as determined by the project. Provides input and continuous improvement recommendations of the organization’s integrated talent management strategy as it pertains to learning, leadership development, and inclusion. Delivers learning, skills training and enhancement programs to meet the overall needs of the organization

Leadership Development

  • Participates in the evolution of our leadership development programs including annual alignment to corporate directives. Provides recommendations in the on-going development of leadership orientation initiatives.
  • Analyzes corporate metrics, policies and procedures to ensure the support of learning, leadership development, inclusion, and talent development initiatives.

Consulting

  • Contributes to best practice guidance, advisory and strategic consultative services to support leaders and teams in the successful implementation of initiatives (from our portfolio) and enhance individual, team (including work groups), and organizational performance and build organizational capability. Participates in committees, initiatives and discussions to leverage expertise, provide guidance and support learning, leading, and employee experience in the workplace.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Requires completion of University degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in a complex environment.
  • Healthcare or public sector experience preferred
  • Proven experience and competence in leadership development domains
  • Expertise in instructional design and the competencies of performance and learning
  • Strong consulting and advisory skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with others at all levels in the organization.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills
  • Project management skills
  • Experience working in virtual environments and in person
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office programs
  • eLearning development tools and talent management platforms
  • Maintains current knowledge of new developments, trends and research in learning design, leadership development, and employee engagement.
  • Needs assessment methodologies (traditional and non-traditional)
