The Human Resources Business Partner is an Internal Consultant/Advisor to regional resources and Associate-Owners for all Human Resources Management disciplines. You will be fully conversant with corporate policies, National Standards, Associate-Owner guidelines and related legislation.  As the Human Resources Business Partner you will be accountable for all employee relations/labour relations activities and for the implementation of all Human Resource initiatives in the region.

 

 

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Coaching- Coach Associates, management team members, and business unit teams on employee relations issues and HR matters in order to increase their level of knowledge and application.

     

  • Employee Survey- You will manage, advise and guide Associates and District Managers in the interpretation and follow-up of store staff surveys, including action plan development, as required.

     

  • Employee Relations- Audit employee relations practices at all stores. Identify and monitor high risk stores and manage the risk with the Associate and business unit teams.

     

  • HR Standards- Ensure National HR Standards are in place for all stores, i.e. maintain and revise human resources policies and procedures to reflect corporate policies.

     

  • Compensation- Recommend and implement wage and benefit programs and rate adjustments for store staff including the Pharmacists Quarterly Wage Review process.  Complete compensation surveys on competitor data as required. Monitor and identify changes in union and non-union market situations.

     

  • Compensation- Manage the Pharmacist Quarterly Wage Review process.  Advise and guide Associates and respective Operation resources as to wage survey findings and recommend appropriate actions as required. Communicate local market situations in a timely manner.

     

  • Employee Relations- Liaise and advise Associates and Management Teams on personnel problems, employee relations issues and the interpretation of store personnel policies and procedures to ensure they are consistent with provincial legislation and common law decisions i.e. Terminations; human rights; etc.

     

  • Store Operations- Advise and implement store operating initiatives, particularly as they relate to front store and cosmetics, in making proactive strategic decisions to ensure the right person is at the right place, at the right time to meet customer demands.

     

  • Leadership- Provide hands-on human resource leadership and Business Team support in any acquisition activity, new store openings, relocations, store closures and required downsizing.

     

  • Liaising- Liaise and advise with Peers Executive and Peers members to assist their understanding of and commitment to new processes and initiatives implemented by the company.

     

  • Orientation- Conduct, coach and follow up on new Associate Orientation as required.

     

  • Retention- Support Pharmacist Retention through monitoring compliance of the 16 point promise.

     

 

 

What You'll Need:

 

  • Education- Degree in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations and professional designation.

     

  • Experience- A minimum ofm 5-7 years of progressive human resource experience with detailed knowledge of provincial Human Resources legislation and regulations.

     

  • Project Management- Strong Project Management skills i.e. ability to implement programs.

     

  • Computer Skills- Strong proficiency using Windows Suite, including MS Word and Excel

     

  • Self-Management- You must have exhibited independent judgment by making sound justifiable decisions, and by taking appropriate action in solving problems.

     

  • Relationship Building- Ability to establish strong relationships, build trust, confidence, and influence the client group.

     

 

 

Important Notes:

 

  • Travel - This role can be up to 70% travel per week throughout the region. Travel by car and plane as required to various locations.
