About the Position: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for participating in and supporting various HR programs and initiatives including full cycle recruitment, onboarding, people and culture, employee relations, policy and legislation knowledge, and all aspects of administrative tasks. Additionally, you will be tasked with the following proficiencies:
- Handle daily, sensitive human resources issues with confidentiality, professionalism, and an applicable knowledge of legislation
- First point of contact for all employee inquiries
- Full cycle recruitment (i.e. attracting, job fairs, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding) Build and maintain strong working relationships with all leadership; as a “go-to”
- Advisor for any Human Resources related matters (i.e. legislation, policy interpretation, etc.) Manage and organize administrative activities (i.e. employee file maintenance, utilize HRIS system, prepare reports, etc.)
- Prepare and deliver various letters and documentation (i.e. employment verification, disciplinary action, leave of absences, etc.)
- Assist with employee relation issues (i.e. conducting investigations, counselling employees, etc.)
- Participate in the creation, development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures
- Work closely with Payroll and Health & Safety as required
- Plan and execute employee events and meetings
- Project work as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
About You: The successful candidate is energetic with a positive, open-minded attitude, professional demeanour and has a wide variety of Human Resources experience. We are also looking for the following qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration – Human Resources is required
- Four (4) + years Human Resources experience is required, preferably in a Generalist role
- Working towards or attained CHRP Designation is preferred
- Strong computer skills working with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Experience utilizing ADP Workforce Now is an asset
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
