Beausoleil First Nation is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team! Reporting to the First Nation Administrator, the HR Manager will lead a team to offer services and support to co-workers by providing progressive leadership and HR expertise through communication of best practices, compliance with applicable legislation, and knowledge of HR trends.

What We Are Looking For

Beausoleil First Nation is looking for an HR Manager who can ensure the successful management and delivery of all HR requirements and operations for the First Nation. This includes the development, planning, and implementation of the HR strategy through a variety of HR functions such as recruitment and retention; workforce planning, policy development, pension and benefits administrating, and training and development initiatives. All candidates must:

  • Have their CHRP, or minimum 5 years of experience and working towards CHRP designation
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Comply with COVID-19 Immunization Policy

The HR Manager will be expected to:

  • Lead and participate in the development, implementation, and communication of human resources related projects, operations, initiatives, policies, and processes.
  • Development and communicate new ideas and approaches to improve human resources requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers.
  • Maintain excellent relations with employees, council, and community members.
  • Advise, motivate, and coach departmental managers on interpretation and administration of HR policies and programs.
  • Lead employee information meetings and participate actively on various joint committees with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Co-ordinate internal and external training and recruitment activities.
  • Administer various employee training and development programs.
  • Develop and implement labour relations policies and procedures and negotiate collective agreements.
  • Oversee the classification and rating of occupations. 
  • Direct the organization's quality management program by auditing and implementing new systems as they come available.
  • Ensure legislative compliance is maintained including but not limited to the Collective Agreement, Canada Labour Code, OHSA, OHRC, ESA, and any other applicable legislation.
