St. Lawrence College is currently looking for a HCM Systems Technical Analyst to manage and support our HCM systems.  We are seeking an individual who:

 

  • Loves the challenge of taking a problem and getting to the bottom of the solution Is motivated by taking manual, inefficient processes and finding efficient, easy-to-use solutions Has a strong desire to learn how systems work Is passionate about making systems sing!  Wants to take full advantage of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, maintaining and expanding our PeopleSoft HCM system

 

 

What is Expected:

 

On any given day, you could:

 

  • Provide technical expertise in PeopleSoft HCM modules, such as end-user support, testing, configuration, enhancements, or integrations Lead or support multiple, complex system enhancements Participate in enterprise-wide projects, representing HR as the HCM subject matter expert Create documentation, for example, operational requirements, current and future state maps, design requirements, user acceptance testcases Apply problem-solving techniques to provide HCM production support Liaise with IT to resolve problems Develop customized reports to support HR and client needs Collaborate with clients to understand their system needs Translate technical solutions into easily understood business processes when meeting with non-technical stakeholders

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

A minimum of a 3-year diploma or degree in Computer Technologist or Computer Science degree.

 

 

 

A minimum of 5 years of experience advising management on human resources systems administration in a variety of functions.

 

  • Previous functional experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) products Experience of delivering end-to-end, user-centered products and solutions Experience developing test strategies and plans Experience leading and executing technical support Experience establishing strong working relationships with a wide range of team members and clients Experience working with functional groups, utilizing time management and prioritization skills Project management experience, including evaluating client needs, time estimates, setting tasks, determining priorities, tracking progress, and assigning tasks Experience communicating effectively with technical/non-technical users Experience in developing end-user documentation

 

 

Other Required Qualifications:

 

  • In-depth functional and configuration knowledge of HCM systems, including processes (e.g., staffing, performance, talent, recruiting). Ability to use Business Analytic Tools for data analysis and effective decision-making. Ability to use Structured Query Language (SQL) to maintain, create, modify/update, manipulate and retrieve information from relational databases. Expert-level knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and project planning tools. Understanding of HCM concepts (e.g., position management, organizations, hierarchy, supervisory organizations). Ability to facilitate collaboration across a broad audience of stakeholders and drive consensus in alignment with SLC policies, processes, and procedures. Ability to provide recommendations on design and development methodologies, and leverage lessons learned from past experiences to drive continuous improvement of application and business process solutions. Effective written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting technical topics to non-technical audiences. Ability to support concurrent projects, prioritize competing assignments, and work under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions. 

 

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:

The incumbent may be required to work extended hours and an unpredictable schedule (some evenings and weekends) given systems implementation, testing, go live, on a frequent occasion. Travel to other campuses occasionally required. The successful incumbent must have the ability to work from a remote location with reliable internet access from a work location in Ontario, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college’s Telework Policy.

 

Admin Group:         Pay Band 9: $68,911 - $86,140 per annum, commensurate on education and experience. In addition to the salary, the position is eligible for pay for performance.

 

Hours per week:     37.5
