Max Rate (Maximum salary potential, achieved by progressing through this band): $144,350

Here’s what you will get to do:     

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced recruitment team, empowering the team to provide exceptional experiences;
  • Support the growth and development of the team while serving as an authentic, effective and holistic leader;
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, including working with recruitment team members and/or hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, manage the interview process and candidate experience, support the negotiation of offers and onboarding;
  • Lead the design and implementation of THP’s core recruitment strategy, team and processes to support workforce planning and talent management across the organization;
  • Develop THP’s talent brand as an employer of choice within the healthcare industry;
  • Ensure our workforce reflects our community by creating diverse and inclusive recruitment strategies and removing systemic barriers;
  • Lead the team in finding innovative solutions in situations where standard activities could be improved or made more efficient;
  • Build a talent pipeline by developing recruitment partnerships with colleges, universities, professional associations, labour partners and others as appropriate;
  • Champion a high performance team through operational effectiveness initiatives in the department to improve core processes and systems;
  • Build and implement foundational tools to support a streamlined approach to working with the internal business units to develop a system that meets and anticipates organizational needs and reduces time to fill;
  • Standardize processes linked to workflow through recruiter and client experience;
  • Support the applicant tracking system;
  • Identify emerging workforce trends and needs through analysis of HR metrics and established feedback mechanisms, escalating identified issues as appropriate and building out strategies for improvement;
  • Ensure the optimal management of human, financial and capital resources within the department;
  • Provide inclusive, effective leadership, and development and coaching of direct reports;
  • Support the broader People team through effective relationship building and strong connections between the recruitment team and broader people strategies, programs and services;
  • Support the implementation of the HRIS system by providing input specific to the recruitment function through the various project phases (i.e. project readiness and implementation) including risk mitigation strategies.

You are an accomplished and respected leader in the space of recruitment.  You thrive in a complex and diverse environment, and bring a proven ability to champion and lead the advancement of strategic and proactive recruitment strategies.  You live THP’s values of compassion, courage and excellence, and can bring them to life in the leadership you provide to teams. 

As the successful candidate, you will focus on developing and building on existing processes and practices to continuously transform our approach to recruitment. You’ll do this by bringing a unique and highly authentic blend of leadership qualities and skills the role, which are grounded in a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, and a strong sense of self-awareness. You have:

  • Relevant University degree/ diploma or work experience;
  • Minimum of 7 years of working experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or human resources with at least 3 years of people management required;
  • CHRL designation is desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience driving the employee value proposition through communication channels including social media platforms;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies for high volume recruitment, preferably within a healthcare or broader public service environment;
  • Experience challenging the status quo and utilizing innovative thinking and demonstrated analytical problem solving skills; Demonstrated ability to drive strategy, work with data analytics and demonstrated capability in effective and creative recruitment strategies;
  • Broad understanding of recruitment best practices, principles and legislation;
  • Strong people leadership capabilities with effective change management experience and demonstrated ability to lead and influence cultural and organizational transformation;
  • Proven effective leadership of diverse teams and leveraging of diversity Solid track record of establishing credibility and building relationships at all levels and providing pro-active and responsive solutions;
  • Experience challenging the status quo and utilizing innovative thinking and demonstrated analytical problem solving skills;
  • Strong analytical skills with the proven track record of leveraging the data to build out proactive recruitment strategies that reduce time to fill;
  • Experience managing high demands of a portfolio while working closely with partners needs to achieve strategic plan aligned outcomes.
  • A track record of driving positive experiences for people through programs, services, and advisory functions

This role does have an on-site team, and on-site leadership presence for those with staff at the hospital is very important.
