JOB TITLE: Human Resources Generalist

STATUS: Temporary Full-Time – EXEMPT (For approximately one [1] year)
HOURS PER WEEK:
35 hours per week. Potential for hybrid work arrangement.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for:
- Processing staffing transactions, informing relevant staff/department as required and updating database
- Administering recruitment function including preparing job postings, competition files and reports
- Responding to enquires, requests and concerns from all levels of staff, clients, other government agencies, or members of the public regarding H.R. policies and practices
- Providing administrative support to Human Resources Consultant
- Maintaining position, employee and other human resources-related information using Human Resource Information System
- Designing and using databases to monitor activities and generating statistics and reports
- Developing administrative procedures and standardized forms for the Human Resources department
- Assisting in the labour relations and benefits function including processing and maintaining group benefits plan, and assisting employees with benefit claims and queries
- Administering the WSIB function including processing and handling of claims
- Scheduling, coordinating and confirming appointments, meetings, seminars, training sessions. Coordinating and preparing necessary materials
- Maintaining employee/department files
- Performing other duties, as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Post-Secondary education is required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a human resources environment. Experience in the administration of WSIB and benefits is a definite asset.
- Good communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Ability to work well within a team environment and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external contacts.
- Good judgement, initiative and analytical ability.
- Proven ability to use a PC with various related software packages.
SALARY: $66,742.42 per annum (2022 Rate, Wage Grade 4.5)
