As a member of the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) & Talent team, the National Diversity & Strategic Talent Advisor will contribute to establishing an unforgettable employee experience through identifying moments that matter most in the overall talent strategy, development program planning, and the facilitation of the EDI journey aligned with the company’s overall priorities and strategic objectives. This role will be a part of a team that focused on delivering skilled expertise throughout specialist domains. The team works closely with HR Business Partners, leaders, employees and other subject matter experts to develop policy and practices that enable individual, team and organizational performance.

The National Diversity & Strategic Talent Advisor will report directly to the Chief Diversity Officer & Head of Talent Strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

The National Diversity & Strategic Talent Advisor position will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and maintenance of HR strategic initiatives, and establish key HR programs that will enhance the employee experience across Bayshore Healthcare. This role will collaborate with HR Business Partners and business leaders to support the development, activation and sustainment of talent strategies across the company-wide portfolio with an EDI lens and in the delivery of the people strategy. This position will also work in partnership with Talent Acquisition function, ensuring the talent needs of the company are met. This role maintains adequate risk management controls in both policy and regulatory requirements as it relates to new programs and policies.

Key Accountabilities 
•    Act as a strategic partner to the HR team on the management of HR Programs, Initiatives and Talent, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and identifying operational efficiencies.
•    Lead the rollout and implementation of employee experience strategies, working with the HR leadership team and business leaders across the organization to gather input and support.
•    Assess the company’s employee engagement strategies and recommend and develop a long-term approach.
•    Partner with Employee Experience Owner on the employee experience strategy taking into account the employee lifecycle from candidate to departure with a view to enhance practices, short- and long-term plans.
•    Leverage best practices and understand evolving trends and how they may impact the employee experience at Bayshore Healthcare and customize the employee experience strategy and related programs accordingly.
•    Develop exceptional relationships and strong lines of communication across all businesses 
•    In collaboration with the Chief Diversity Officer and Head of Talent, develop HR frameworks and programs that can be leveraged across Bayshore, this includes educating the HRBPs on the program content and objectives
•    Partner closely with HRBPs to broker talent across the company and build talent routines to ensure strong succession and workforce plans for each business
•    Oversee the analysis and reporting of success metrics in support of business strategies, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of data
•    Coordinate all employee engagement surveys including the EDI, which includes communication strategy, roll out of the survey, analysis of the results and ensuring action plans are put in place. 
•    Partner with the talent acquisition team to expand our candidate outreach to include but not limited to, international candidates, foreign trained paraprofessionals that are currently in Canada and other untapped talent pools. 
•    In collaboration with the HRBPs, continue to accelerate progress against our EDI goals
•    Lead a variety of Talent related strategic initiatives based on business needs and company-wide priorities. 

Work Location : Mississauga ( Hybrid) Weekly 2 days onsite, 3 days remote

 

 

Experience & Education

•    University in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Business Administration 
•    CHRP or CHRL professional designation preferred
•    10+ years of Human Resources or equivalent business experience (exposure and knowledge of centre of excellence work), inclusive of 2+ years of leading a functional team/project team(s)
•    Deep understanding across multiple disciplines of Human Resources with a particular focus on EDI and Talent overall

Skills

•    Experience in developing and executing talent, acquisition management and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategies
•    Demonstrated knowledge of the business environment and creating alignment with HR strategies and initiatives in support of business needs
•    Proven experience working with Senior Leaders and Senior Managers to gain buy-in and consensus on new strategies and programs
•    Experience leading projects and change management initiatives and acts as a catalyst for change
•    Ability to collaborate effectively with all members of the team in order to deliver results
•    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the organization and external parties
•    Project management experience with ability to pull resources together to meet required outcomes and deadlines
•    Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
•    Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Proven diplomacy, tact, decision making and negotiation skills
•    Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and to work effectively in a diverse work group
•    Excellent inter-personal relationship skills
•    Self-motivated team player with high energy 
•    Solid presentation and facilitation skills 
•    Ability to handle multiple and varying complex tasks
•    Very strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills and strong technical/systems knowledge with Excel, Word and other MS products, and an understanding of HRIS system

Working Conditions 
This role performs in a normal business environment with minimal needs for physical effort.  The working environment has minimal discomfort with little safety risk.  High sensory attention and mental stress is inherent in this role.  Some projects and deadlines may increase the sensory attention and mental stress to a higher level due to the increased focus and additional hours required.  Minimal travel required for this role.
