Job Description:
Strassburger Windows and Doors is looking for a dynamic and positive HR Generalist with great written and verbal communication skills. In this role you will perform various HR duties, with a strong focus on recruitment in the manufacturing industry. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday, which includes benefits.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Full-cycle recruitment for hourly positions developing sources of qualified potential candidates, preparing job postings, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, preparing employment contracts, and on-boarding of new hires.
- Conduct and/or support investigations and assist in implementing corrective action.
- Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters.
- Give guidance to employees on the interpretation of established HR policies, programs, procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist and provide counsel on progressive disciplinary issues and performance management issues.
- Advise and coach supervisors on resolution of employee concerns.
- Ensure all legal compliance and controls are in place and required training is completed.
- Prepare reports and analysis of key HR metrics such as absenteeism, turnover, headcount, and creating and maintaining organizational charts.
- Lead various health and safety programs, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, manage WSIB claims and return to work process.
- Assist with payroll administration.
The successful individual must have:
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field and 3 years of progressive experience in HR, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job
- Having a CHRP or working towards CHRP designation an asset
- You have a working understanding of WSIB standards and how to administer the relevant forms
- Prior full cycle recruiting experience an asset
- Highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
