Reporting  to  the  Director  of  Human  Resources,  the Talent  Advisor  contributes  to  the  organization’s efficiency by ensuring that workforce needs are met effectively by leading the full recruitment cycle and creating recruitment strategies based on regional characteristics.

YOUR ROLE

  • Leads the organization’s recruitment and selection processes by coordinating job postings, regional job fairs, collection and screening of resumes, arrangement of venues for interviews, participation in interviews, reference checks and letters of offer.
  • Continuously evaluates and suggests new methods when developing recruitment strategies in collaboration with the Community Engagement Managers to acquire new talent and analyzes organization’s needs to anticipate hiring.
  • Maintains a pulse on recruitment trends and uses appropriate channels to source and develop the pipeline of qualified candidates. Attends regular outreach opportunities in the community (e.g., employment centers, employment agencies, newcomer centers, adult schools, colleges, and universities) and social media channels (LinkedIn).
  • Prepares HR dashboards and ad hoc reports. Provides relevant HR metrics to management on a proactive basis to assist them in managing their workforces. 
  • Collaborate with managers to ensure future needs are identified for proactive planning to manage the workforce.
  • Promotes the values of the organization within the workplace and in the community by demonstrating positive and professional relationships with other agency staff, families, volunteers, advocates, and employers.
  • Reports all unsafe conditions, hazards or practices, accidents and incidents in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and adheres to all Health and Safety requirements within DeafBlind Ontario Services’ policies and procedures and provincial legislation. • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • University degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field. 
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards. 
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a recruitment capacity.  Experience within the not-for-profit sector preferred.
