Due to our tremendous growth, we are seeking an experienced Director of Recruitment to join our team in this new opportunity and make an immediate impact. This role can be based at either our Vancouver or Toronto Head Office (on-site position).

Job Overview:

The Director of Recruitment will be responsible for the design and implementation of recruiting strategies for our company in collaboration with the VP of HR. The responsibilities include monitoring recruitment procedures, from sourcing to hiring, and identifying high-potential candidates. Ultimately, you will help us grow our teams with qualified employees and achieve our business goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Building talent pipelines for current and future job openings
  • Leading all sourcing strategies
  • Develop recruitment budgets and reviewing and reconciling on a monthly basis
  • Oversee hard to recruit positions and develop a plan of action for presentation to VP HR
  • Work with colleagues in HR, operations, and leaders to analyze priority people/HR challenges and articulate a roadmap to translate strategies into solutions to meet current needs and enable future aspirations for presentation to VP of HR
  • Managing our external partnerships with colleges, universities, and job boards
  • Implement online and offline employer branding activities
  • Oversee all stages of candidate experience (including application, interviews, and communication)
  • Drive targeted recruitment campaigns
  • Ensuring careers website is always kept up to date
  • Oversees the development of up-to-date recruitment processes ensuring consistent streamlining 
  • Manage, train, engage, motivate and evaluate our team of recruiters
  • Articulate a vision of what works, and solutions to be delivered to meet requirements (individually or through project team)
  • Coaching team toward increased effectiveness and delivery of high-quality work.
  • Provide expertise to support large scale role / workforce transformation, platforms have talent plans & solutions to drive the business strategy and outcomes.
  • Participate in and host recruitment events to drive awareness of our company
  • Develop a network of potential future hires (e.g., past applicants and referred candidates)
  • Measure key recruitment metrics, like source of hire and time-to-hire

Accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain strongly influential working relationships with all client areas, including leadership, to enable effective service delivery with high trust, credibility and influence
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with HR, operations and payroll colleagues including subject matter experts
  • Facilitate teamwork and constructive working relationships within client areas, including use of conflict resolution techniques where appropriate 

Education, Credentials, Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Recruitment experience in large company setting including at least 4 years of managing a team of recruitment professionals
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human resources or business-related field
  • Designation in HR (CPHR) and/or RPR 
  • Proven work experience as a Director or Manager of Recruitment or similar role
  • Previous agency experience an asset

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to work and think strategically alongside partners to translate strategies and priorities into solutions that achieve both current and future aspirations and successes.
  • National experience recruiting roles in various industries 
  • Ability to get things done in a variety of circumstances and the ability to utilize assigned resources and leverage back-channel resources (individuals or teams) to achieve or exceed planned outcomes.
  • Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrable experience managing full cycle recruitment and employer branding initiatives
  • Solid understanding of sourcing techniques and tools (e.g., social networks)
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR databases
  • Good team-management abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships (with internal teams, external partners, and candidates) 
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office including PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop comprehensive and strategic solutions to complex cases
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with an ability to adapt and interact at all levels
  • Solid understanding of Recruitment practices and processes, and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task at all times in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion
