And that culture of supporting people has continued.  The Senior Human Resource Manager is the champion of this culture and leads by example, showing empathy and authenticity in their interactions with others.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and administration of our Human Resources operational activities.  Included is the development and implementation oversight of company policies, procedures, and programs.  Further, short and long-term tactical planning will be required to address opportunities and challenges as they arise.  Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Administration this person should demonstrate a proven track record of rapport building across all levels of an organization, sound critical thinking skills, and must be passionate about supporting people to be their best.

  • Assists with employee onboarding, integration, and functional awareness

Specific Expectations

  • Leads the recruiting strategy with a focus on cultural fit.
  • Monitors turnover and provides guidance on strategies to retain employees.
  • Leads the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and development of HR strategies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, and employee development.
  • Oversees department activities to ensure effective department functioning, coordinating activities, and compliance with established financial, legal, and administrative requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communications or a related field, or a diploma or certificate in human resources management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an HR Manager, with at least 3 years as an HR generalist in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • CHRL designation considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in the consulting industry considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strategic objectives for the department and the organization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to be empathetic, tactful, diplomatic and professional in all interactions.
  • Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills, as well as effective presentation skills.
  • Computer literacy with effective working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Knowledge of current employment law matters with an ability to interpret and implement relevant legislation
  • Experience with effective recruiting strategies to fill highly specialized positions
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning for foundational understanding of concepts.
  • Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to discretion and personal privacy.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive, with a dedication to diversity management.
