Manager, Human Resources
Permanent Position
If you are self-assured and confident to purposely drive toward results while constantly problem-solving, then consider this exciting opportunity with the Highland Shores senior leadership team. As the Manager of Human Resources, you will have a leadership style that is firm and goal oriented, and yet motivates, trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions will be essential to your success in this role. Because environmental and organizational conditions change rapidly, the work involves innovation and creativity in generating ideas for quick response, and decision-making is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions. An emphasis on building rapport and relationships with individuals and groups requires an outgoing, poised, and persuasive communication style. Our job environment is flexible, constantly changing and provides growth opportunity, recognition, and reward for the achievement of business results.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, you will lead the provision of an integrated human resources program across the organization and be a resource to the Board and its Committees. You will be responsible for enabling effective union-management relations, and for supporting a positive employee relations environment. Applying solid knowledge and understanding of strategic human resources management in a not-for-profit, unionized environment, and in keeping with Highland Shores’ statement of Vision, Mission, and Values, you will provide leadership in the development and implementation of human resources policies and programs and assist in the development of our strategic plan.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Education and Skills:
- University or College degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- Membership in or eligibility for membership in Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario; preferably a Certified Human Resources Professional.
- Minimum five years’ experience in human resources management and labour relations.
- Strategic planning and organizational development experience would be an asset.
- Skilled in the development of human resource systems, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrated organizational, research, analytical, mediation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership, planning and organizational abilities, with effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including HRIMS and Word.
Annual salary: $100,172 - $121,857. We offer a competitive benefits and compensation package and opportunities for professional development.
