Position Summary:

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Human Resources (HR), Strategy and Transformation is directly accountable for operational level programs, systems and stewardship pertaining to human resources, transformation, partnerships, volunteer resources, strategy, operational planning, and risk management.

 

Leadership responsibilities include the Human Resources, Communications/Media Relations, Occupational Health and Wellness, Pastoral Care, Medical Records, Transcription, Switchboard and Admitting, Privacy, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) and the Ethics Committee.  Position has direct and indirect responsibilities for two (2) managers and thirty-seven (37) staff.

The Vice President will build broad organizational capability, including people, processes and structure and optimize resources to ensure efficiencies, quality of care and minimize risk exposure, and will evolve services which effectively contribute to the achievement of SJGHEL’s Mission, Vision & Values.

 

The Vice President provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the HR operations and is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices.

The Vice President oversees the planning and execution of the organization’s recruitment and retention strategy, as well as staffing orientation and on-boarding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required, Masters or law degree highly preferred At least ten (10) years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred HRPA - CHRE or CHRL - strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of strategic and operational planning, health care systems, financial and cost analysis and trends in the health care industry Strong, well developed business management skills (strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation and analytics) Proven leadership and team building skills with a personal presence that inspires confidence and credibility at all levels of SJGHEL Proven success in gaining credibility and building trust with senior decision-makers Ability to influence outcomes and balance competing interests Excellent oral and written communication skills Possesses a high capacity for developing respectful and supportive interpersonal relationships. Ability to build effective working relationships with a dynamic, professional team
