An exciting permanent full-time opportunity to join the Georgian Bay General Hospital as the Physician Recruitment Specialist. This position reports to the Vice President, People & Culture and will work collaboratively with the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff to implement the credentialed staff human resources plan.
This opportunity requires an energetic, creative, and client-focused individual to provide professional physician recruitment services and manage all Credentialing. You will lead the development and implementation of creative recruitment and sourcing strategies in order to attract, screen, recruit and select highly qualified, diverse candidates to fill physician opportunities for Georgian Bay General Hospital and the community physician recruitment. You will be responsible for leveraging multiple recruiting resources (job boards, social media, career website, professional organizations, and other possible channels) to source, recruit and interview quality credentialed staff to our organization and the community.
Responsibilities for Physician Recruitment
- Evaluate, update and execute current recruitment strategies in conjunction with the hospital and community needs.
- Foster relationships and work with existing physicians to ensure retention and identify opportunities for new physicians to join existing practices within the community.
- Liaise with the GBGH Foundation & GBGH Talent Acquisition Team to partner on recruitment incentives, initiatives and strategy
- Develop and maintain robust database of strong prospective candidates through strategic sourcing, including networking, job board postings and social media utilization
- Organize participation in and attend recruitment fairs representing Georgian Bay General Hospital
- Develop advertising campaigns, including social media marketing, medical journals and print media
- Establish a robust and responsive recruitment and onboarding process including community visits, tours, and support during relocation process
- Implement and support a comprehensive Credentialed Staff Orientation while collaborating with the EA for the COS
- Financial accountability for physician recruitment budget
Responsibilities For Managing the Application Process for Credentialed Staff and Privileges
- Generate and maintain Credentialed staff personnel files and prepare them for the Chief of Staff and Credential Committee’s review. Participate on the Credentials Committee, providing background of credentialed staff applications
- Facilitate and provide correspondence to the Medical Advisory Committee and the Hospital’s Board and maintain a list of credentialed staff and distribute throughout hospital
- Complete initial credentialing & annual re-credentialing of professional staff (Physicians, Dentists, Midwives)
- Collaborate with IS to ensure all elements of CMaRS aligns with the Hospital’s current credentialing process
- Support physicians as well as physician leaders on the online re-credentialing process (CMaRS)
- Collaborate with Executive Assistant of Chief of Staff to support all physician and MAC needs during the credentialing process
Responsibilities for Supporting Medical Students
- Site Administrative Coordinator, Norther School of Medicine (NOSM)
- Ensure an efficient process for the Medical Trainee Program. Orientate new learners and build relationships for future recruitment
- Work with residency programs to determine best practices to develop appropriate recruiting strategies to appeal to graduating physicians. Collaborates with Talent Acquisition Team for cross-promotional opportunities with nursing and allied health placements.
- Jointly coordinate and provide orientation to all ROMP (medical learner) placements with the EA for the COS
