Home and Community Care Support Services South East is looking for a Manager, Organizational Development with substantial knowledge of organizational development best practices, and expertise in the areas of change management, organizational effectiveness, and learning and development.

 

In conjunction with the Director, Human Resources and Organizational Development, the Manager, Organizational Development is accountable for partnering with leaders and stakeholders to co-design and support people-focused initiatives and programs that enable Home and Community Care Support Services South East to build an engaged workforce and drive excellence in care and service delivery.

 

This position will involve responsibility for assessing organizational needs and identifying strategies to address complex issues related to capacity building, organizational effectiveness and change management.

What will you do?

 

Organization Development

 

  • Design, manage, and implement OD projects to enhance organizational effectiveness and support cultural transformation. Collaborate with HR peers, business leaders, and provincial stakeholders to identify solutions that enhance employee engagement and align employee performance with business goals. Develop strategies and tools to aid leaders in enhancing organizational performance. Develop learning strategies, models and plans to meet organizational learning needs. Design, deliver, evaluate and implement internal and external frontline, middle and senior leadership development programs that increase key competencies. Lead, design, and develop organizational orientation programs, including overall responsibility for corporate orientation, management orientation, and preceptor training.

Training and Development

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of new and effective training methods, materials, and resources to support organizational programs and mandatory training requirements. Create evaluation tools and testing to ensure effectiveness of each training program/session and build a process for ensuring post-training development activities are implemented on the job. Oversee the professional development process. Act as organizational lead for Learning Management System technology.

Employee Engagement

 

  • Lead implementation of the Employee Engagement Survey initiatives and support leaders in the interpretation, design, and development of action plans and strategies as a part of the implementation of survey findings. Lead local employee recognition programs and initiatives. Work in partnership with leadership in the development of organizational change management strategies to support strategic goals and operational planning.

What must you have?

 

  • Undergraduate degree in organizational development, or human resources, or equivalent education and experience; Organizational Development Certificate, an asset; Change Management Certificate, an asset; CHRP designation, an asset; Five (5) years’ progressive organizational development experience, including at least three (3) years in an organizational development leadership role, with demonstrated success applying organizational effectiveness practices to support business transformation; Experience with/knowledge of Organizational Development and Effectiveness tools, best practices, and methodologies; Experience providing programs in change enablement, including leadership development, stakeholder management, workforce strategies, and talent management; Strong facilitation skills with knowledge of facilitation techniques; Experience supporting large-scale change initiatives; Knowledge of adult education theories, principles, and trends; Knowledge and understanding of community health and long-term care within the context of the broader health care system; Demonstrated project management skills to lead a team to successful project completion; Knowledge of quality management principles.
