Superior Propane is seeking a Manager, Rewards and Wellness to join our team based in Cambridge, ON.

Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the Manager, Rewards & Wellness provides strategic direction, designs, implements, and manages human resources programs, standards, and activities in the areas of compensation, pension, benefits, and disability management. The Manager, Rewards & Wellness acts as a subject matter expert for the human resources team, delivering professional and proactive client service, creating innovative solutions to continuously improve our total rewards. This position oversees a team of Compensation Analysts, Disability Management Specialists, and Pension & Benefits Coordinator.

ROLE-SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Aligns all total compensation programs with the overall HR and business strategy to attract & retain a diverse flexible workforce.
  2. Develops & maintains a transparent and equitable salary structure, in tandem with operations cost control. Researches and recommends annual salary increase budget. Directs participation in salary survey processes as required for base starting rates, market analysis, and off-cycle adjustments.
  3. Lead and collaborate in programs with respect to equity and diversity, to ensure open & accessible HR practices organization-wide.
  4. Variable compensation design; this includes competitive benchmarking and positioning and providing recommendations for annual program changes, to achieve simplicity in program design & execution, and recommendations to drive desired organizational behaviors.
  5. Manages all aspects of a client-focused benefits program from design to administration.
  6. Develop programs for disability management, to support early & safe return to work, and in partnership with Health & Safety, develop national strategies to support the management of workplace injury claims.
  7. Partner and manage vendor relationships and negotiations with consultants and service providers in the preparation of reports and materials in support of annual program cycles and committee meetings.
  8. Ensuring controls and objectives concerning audits (benefits, pension, and compensation) are achieved.
  9. Oversees the administration, and preparation and acts as Secretary to the divisional Pension Committees.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Business or Human Resources
  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience including a focus on compensation/benefits/pension and program design
  • Compensation (CCP), pension, or benefits designations (CEBS) considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required
