Job Purpose
This position will be the primary Human Resources partner supporting our Operations team. The role provides ongoing employee relations support to Plant Supervisors as well as acts as a resource to employees. This role partners with operations to develop and optimize resources to drive business goals and is responsible for assisting with the development of initiatives and coordination, implementation, administration and maintenance of Human Resources programs with a focus on excellent execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- This position will support the Afternoon shift. Hours of work are from 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM. Provides day to day support and counseling to supervisors and employees on retention, training and development, compensation and benefits, legislative and policy compliance, performance management, termination and severance. Promotes positive employee relations through superior customer service, communication and execution of employee programs. Assists in the development of Human Resources programs and implements initiatives to support compliance, performance, retention and engagement of the workforce. Reinforces Human Resources policies, programs and strategies consistent with organizational mission and philosophy. Assists in the development of strategies and executes on-boarding and orientation of new employees. Assists in the development, implementation, coordination and delivery of training programs. Provides regular reports and KPI’s to update business on programs and initiatives Short term and Long Term Disability Management. Participates as required in WSIB Early and Safe Return to Work process Coaches and advises supervisors on the handling of disability claims, accommodation issues and supports Health and Safety initiatives Executes attendance management policy Attends and may facilitate regular HR and Operations meetings Act as a role model and cultivate positive relationships with the team Creates and promotes Employee Engagement Activities and supports all Employee events. Other duties as required

Qualifications
- 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience with a focus on generalist support
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline, CHRP designation preferred
- Experience in food processing/manufacturing environment an asset
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating the ability to exercise mature judgment, organization and prioritization
- Working knowledge of employment and health and safety legislation
- Demonstrated ability to resolve sensitive and complex employee issues
- Demonstrated change management and conflict resolution skills
- Client service focused with the ability to prioritize needs
- Strong ability to communicate well with team and influence at various levels
- Knowledgeable in employment and health and safety legislation
- Able to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Excellent investigation skills and sound judgment are required
- Demonstrated ability to build solid business relationships

Working Conditions
- Works an occasional weekend and early/late hours to support different shifts
