Managing Director, People (Bilingual)
Are you looking for a new challenge in the HR-space? One where you will be able to utilize all your cumulative knowledge, and business acumen to help elevate the People function within a dynamic and complex organization?
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, GroupM Canada, you will be responsible for collaborating and executing on human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, change management, organizational development, and total rewards, while fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging.
You will be the strategic liaison between the HR Practice Areas (Centres of Expertise) you oversee, the Talent Business Partners and the agencies. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing Talent Business Partners. As a strategic partner you will work collaboratively to build a people strategy to support their business needs. In addition, you will act as a partner to Unit Leads across multiple departments, other agencies and the global HR community.
Your Impact:
As a member of the Human Resources Leadership Team, you will oversee HR for GroupM Canada (Ontario and Quebec) and one of our internal agencies. Additionally, you will also be responsible for leading the People Operations and Analytics & Reporting capability.
- Be a thought leader for talent and HR in Canada
- Co-create and implement the best fit talent strategy that aligns with overall business objectives in Canada
- Lead cross-functional HR projects for GroupM Canada
- Provide advice and hands-on support for local market issues
- Lead and oversee technology and system implementations
- Develop meaningful people metrics and data for robust decision making
- Engage, motivate, manage, lead, and inspire the talent teams
- Coach senior executives both formally and informally
- Collaborate with Leadership teams to create a high-performance organization that reflects this culture and values in all its talent programs
- Co-create and develop People policies and objectives in support of the business strategy and an inclusive culture
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with HR Practice Areas and HR Leads across agencies to innovate and ensure operational effectiveness
- Lead the People Operations and Analytics & Reporting capability
- Coach and advise senior leadership
- Lead cross-organizational initiatives and manage the roll out of new programs and policies
- Provide best-in-class client service, with an emphasis on being responsive, professional, and accurate
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure organization's compliance
- Regularly partner with the global team when launching HR programs.
- Work closely with the agency CFO when determining HR budgets and semi-annual salary increases
Qualifications:
- At least 10+ years of experience as Human Resources strategic business partner
- Experience leading and managing teams; proven ability to manage and engage teams in person and virtually
- Experience with project management and system implementations
- Experience in HR and/or Business Operations
- Demonstrated experience with complex employee relations
- Excellent knowledge of employment laws
- Highly collaborative, resourceful, and curious
- Comfortable with ambiguity and matrix environments
- High emotional intelligence, able to manage self and influence others in a constructive manner, always with a talent mind-set
- Collaborative and astute - able to build trust and respect within our network
- Strong passion for developing and coaching others
- Fairness, integrity and HR vision
- Experience working in an agency (asset)
- Bilingual in English and French
