Royal Roads has 81 core faculty members, more than 400 associate faculty and roughly 500 staff members who support approximately 4,300 students.
An Associate Vice-President, Human Resources (AVP HR) is being sought to bring strategic focus and practical capacity-building to a busy and dedicated team. A part of the senior management team, and as the senior-most HR executive, the successful candidate will develop and deliver on a strategic HR plan that provides for a clear sense of priority setting and tangible, related operational plans. Capacity building within the department and across the organization will help ensure that the HR department is a highly positive contributor in shaping the experience and engagement of Royal Roads University’s diverse community and supports the achievement of the University’s strategic plan.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Finance and Operations (VPFO), and leading a team of 12 people, the AVP-HR has a unique opportunity to influence a range of key institutional priorities and contribute to what is an already highly positive working and learning environment.
