MatcorMatsu is a fully integrated Automotive Supplier of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Metal Forming Solutions and we are currently recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our Barrie, Ontario facility.  The HR Generalist position will be responsible for assisting with, and supporting all Human Resources, HR Admin, and, Payroll related functions including, employee relations, recruitment and selection, payroll administration, temporary staffing, compensation and benefits administration, training and development, and health, safety and environmental, as well as general administrative tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment for hourly paid employees. Advertise positions, act as a liaison to recruiting agencies, identify and communicate with candidates, assist with interview process, perform employment verification, and reference checks.
  • Maintain the accuracy of payroll by ensuring time and attendance system is correct.
  • Ensure that payroll is reviewed, accurate and submitted on time.
  • Assist with preparing employee communications.
  • Facilitate and coordinate new employee orientation and training activities.
  • Support the annual performance evaluation program.
  • Promote overall employee satisfaction. (QWL Survey, Committees, Social, etc…)
  • Respond to employee relations issues by assisting with conducting investigations where required and recommending solutions.
  • Actively involved in Employee Engagement activities.
  • Handling and responding to various HR-related inquiries of employees.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources.
  • Previous experience in a similar or related role in an industrial setting.
