Reports to: VP of HR
Legal Responsibilities:
- Ensure the successful execution of all compensation and benefits programs by continuously improving processes, technology, and tools.
- Provide backup support for payroll processing, particularly for the hourly workforce, ensuring payroll operations run smoothly.
- Support the Payroll and Benefits Manager in the Total Rewards Programs, overseeing publicity and communication of such
- Prepare detailed compensation data reports for senior leadership review.
- Oversee external benchmarking initiatives and job evaluation processes to maintain market competitiveness.
- Provide insights and expertise on compensation and recognition program design, industry trends, and potential plan changes.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate compensation data.
- Respond to external inquiries from Service Canada, Employment Insurance (EI), and third-party employment verification requests as needed.
Global Mobility:
- Conduct thorough legal assessments of employee-related cases, including reviewing and analyzing legal documents and immigration applications.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and external legal professionals, handling the transmission of confidential information necessary for case management.
- Assist in the preparation, submission, and management of legal forms, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
- Collaborate with leadership and hiring managers to discuss ongoing legal cases, provide updates, and secure necessary approvals for legal actions.
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Progress toward or completion of CCP or CHRP designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Total Rewards and Benefits or Immigration/Global Mobility
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of global compensation practices and trends.
- Strong understanding of legal processes related to employment law and payroll practices.
