The Human Resources Administrator plays an integral role in supporting the day to day operations of the Human Resources function. This role is responsible for the administrative aspects of employee documentation and employee experience. This is a true generalist role with the opportunity to be involved in a range of Human Resources and school life activities. Additionally, the Administrator supports the development and execution of special projects and actively participates on Committees. This is a part-time role with a flexible hybrid work schedule arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain employee records in hard copy and online.
- Ensure accurate and secure record-keeping documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
- Assist in all aspects of the employee recruitment process, including preparing job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, background and reference checks, preparing contracts and general communication with candidates.
- Support the planning and coordination of the onboarding and offboarding process for employees.
- Respond to questions from employees about Human Resources processes, policies, guidelines and general requests for information.
- Assist in the development and communication of HR processes, guidelines and policies.
- Support project planning and execution on initiatives and for process improvement and administrative efficiencies.
- Maintain tracking of HR data, prepare reports and provide insights to support HR planning and decision-making.
- Provide general administrative support as required.
- Active involvement on Committees as determined.
- Foster an equitable and positive work environment.
- Other HR administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- University Degree, Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a Human Resources capacity is preferred.
- Familiarity with Ontario employment legislation.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR platforms.
- Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is an asset
