Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this role is responsible to support the development and management of Human Resources strategic and operational programs, activities and partnerships – supporting, advising and working with internal clients as assigned in a collaborative environment. As the HRBP you will provide HR expertise to clients by advising, coordinating, coaching, and providing strategic direction on a variety of human resource functions. The role will focus on workforce initiatives and people management as well as provide support of workforce planning initiatives. You will also provide consultation on talent acquisition, organization and job design, and employee engagement as well as other related HR tasks, duties and responsibilities. To be effective in this role, you will have a proven record of accomplishment of fostering and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with People leaders, HR colleagues, and other stakeholders. A strong understanding of employee relations; recruitment and retention, performance management; and total rewards is critical in this role.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Partner with assigned clients (department heads/managers) in a proactive manner that builds and maintains partnerships, provides support in managing workplace programs and initiatives, organizational effectiveness, change management, and legislative impacts
- Provide consultation and advice on a variety of employee relations and human resources issues, including coaching, conflict resolution, performance management, attendance management, disciplinary procedures, policy and procedure interpretation and application
- Develop and support HR programs and initiatives that address organizational/business issues to enable the organization to meet its overall goals and objectives
- Build corporate capability by overseeing and/or monitoring the full-cycle recruitment and selection process from initial posting through to completion of the employee probationary period ensuring a high level of customer service and employee retention
- Support the development of job descriptions through to the job evaluation process
- Facilitate investigations and conduct exit interviews, as appropriate
- Act as an employee advocate in response to inquiries and complaints regarding Human Resource issues and career/employment opportunities, counsel’ employees with concerns/problems as required
- Continuously evaluate and strive to provide an inclusive environment, fostering employee engagement
- Support and/or co-ordinate the identification and delivery of individual, departmental and corporate training needs through various processes and ongoing consultation
- Support the creation and implementation of HR processes and policies.
- Review and monitor legislative developments to ensure corporate compliance with legislation
- Ensure confidentiality of personnel files and documentation related to employees or any other confidential material
- Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned
Corporate Responsibilities
- Maintain responsibility for assigned duties within the departmental and/or corporate direction.
- Participate in all mandatory training requirements.
- Be responsible to work and ensure that all staff supervised work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and the Company’s Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in human resources, or a related field.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

CHRL Designation is preferred

Minimum 5+ years progressive experience in Human Resources in all key areas of Human Resources

Well-versed in all relevant legislation related to Human Resources

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
