As an HR Generalist, you’ll play an essential role in enhancing the employee experience and supporting our HR initiatives across the organization. This role involves partnering closely with employees and managers to provide guidance on a range of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and onboarding. You will also be responsible for managing disability and return-to-work programs, supporting learning and development initiatives, and ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures. With a focus on employee engagement and organizational growth, this position is key to fostering a positive, productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR support and advice to management and employees to ensure the fair and equitable application of Human Resources policies and procedures, assist with general inquiries
  • Foster positive employee relations and effectively manage employee relations issues, coach and counsel both management and employees on conflict resolution, disciplinary action, investigation process and other employee relations issues
  • Support the annual performance management process for all applicable employees and manage the probationary review process, working with Supervisors/Managers to ensure completion
  • Support Talent Acquisition in local recruitment and selection process, participate and provide support to the onboarding program.
  • In collaboration with Return to Health partners, manage the disability management and return to work programs for non-work-related claims.   
  • Support various learning and development programs for bakery teams and leadership, conduct local learning events as needed.
  • Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goals
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality and quality
  • Perform all other duties assigned

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or University degree or equivalent, in Human Resources Management or related field is required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years HRBP/Sr. Generalist experience is required
  • Knowledge of ESA, Human Rights Code and other related legislation pertaining to workplace Human Resources is required
  • HR experience preferably in the manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of employment laws, HR processes and best practices
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, hands-on, willing attitude, dedicated and energetic
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated professional standards regarding customer service, ethics and confidentiality
  • Strong organization and Project Management skills
  • Strong computer knowledge, including prior working knowledge with a HRIS
