The Senior HR Generalist supports the creation and delivery of HR policies, processes and initiatives that ensure a positive and productive work environment and align with Stance’s business and culture objectives. They will collaborate with leaders and managers to attract, retain, and develop a talented workforce while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role will be responsible for all ongoing HR functions at our Kitchener and Stratford locations and will participate in strategic planning involving HR practices and policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and execute the Stance employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes. Administer compensation and employee benefit packages and policies. Update and ensure accuracy of all employee data in payroll and benefit systems including status and compensation changes, time-off requests, leaves, and benefit deductions. Maintain accurate HR records and prepare HR metrics to assess effectiveness of HR initiatives. Handle employee HR inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner and with appropriate involvement from managers and leadership. Provide support, recommendations and coaching to leadership team and managers on people management matters including compensation, hiring, department roles and structure, performance management, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions. Support JHSC committee in development and delivery of health & safety policies and programs. Administer WSIB claims and coverage and effective return to work programs. Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with overall business objectives and contribute to the development of Stance’s organizational structure and workforce planning. Promote a positive work culture by acting as a role model and supporting development and delivery of initiatives that foster Stance’s culture and STEPS. Participate in development and administration of programs and initiatives that enhance employee engagement, job satisfaction Collaborate with leadership team and managers to develop training and development programs. Support management of vendor relationships including benefit providers, recruiting agencies, legal counsel. Support development and delivery of Performance Management processes and programs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR-related legal requirements and ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, company policies, and HR best practices. Address HR related legal and compliance issues and conduct or arrange workplace investigations.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Post secondary degree/ diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role with increasing leadership responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong, broad knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices, and demonstrated experience applying effectively in collaboration with leadership teams.
- Proven experience leading HR functions such as recruitment, performance management, compensation, employee relations, and HR compliance.
- Ability to handle confidential, sensitive information and situations with highest level of discretion Ability to develop trusting work relationships and lead and motivate peers and others.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to think strategically and execute projects and solutions that align with business goals and culture.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite. Experience with UKG/Kronos/Ultipro an asset. CHRP (or working toward) designation an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is an on-site position with time spent in office and manufacturing plant environments. Travel between our Kitchener and Stratford locations will be required several times a month.
